Optimized ProtectioniChecker™ and iStreams™ the latest intelligent technologies from Kaspersky Lab, ensure superior performance, as not all files have to be scanned for viruses. Scanning is limited to those files which have changed since the preceding scan. The checksum of all scanned and uninfected files is stored in a special database, and scanning is only carried out if information from a prior scan is not found.

Quarantine infected objects

Infected or suspicious objects which are detected during scanning can be quarantined. They can then be examined by your system administrator and restored, cleaned, deleted, or sent to Kaspersky Lab for further analysis.

Protection against malicious code

Viruses can be detected in over 900 common archive and compressed file formats. Files in ZIP, ARJ, CAB and RAR format can be treated. The ScriptChecker™ module protects against script viruses. Infected and suspicious objects are quarantined pending further analysis.

Protection for all files

This solution provides real-time protection with files being scanned when accessed, created or modified. Infected and suspicious objects can be quarantined, deleted or treated. Local and networked disks can be scanned on demand. Scanning can be initiated manually or automatically in accordance with a defined schedule.

Archived and compressed files

Scanning technology enables to program to detect viruses in over 900 archive and compressed file formats. Malicious code is deleted from infected compressed files, and ZIP, CAB, RAF and ARJ format files can be treated.

Mail message scanning

All incoming and outgoing mail messages in both SMTP and POP3 are automatically scanned in real time. In addition, viruses detected in MS Outlook and MS Outlook Express email databases are disinfected.

Interception of script viruses

Classic antivirus programs are unable to protect against script viruses in RAM. ScriptChecker™, a universal script virus interceptor built into Kaspersky Anti-Virus, solves this problem completely. It is integrated into the system as a filter between the script program and the script passer, ensuring that all executable scripts are scanned before being executed.

Mobile user support

Mobile users are guaranteed smooth antivirus database updates even if updates are interrupted: the program saves downloaded materials and automatically picks up where the break ocurred upon reconnection. Users also can control battery usage: they can set the solution to ‘no scanning’ if the battery is low.
